HomeScreen Framework
About
HomeScreen is a framework for iOS that provides a Springboard-like UI for apps. "But there's Three20!", you might think. Well, yes, there's Three20's Launcher. But for my purpose, Three20 was too extensive, because I only wanted a Springboard-like view-/controller. HomeScreen is just that, with some functionality under the hood. So it's a little bit more, than just a view-/controller, which is why I call it a framework.
Overview
- Scrollable multi-page view for "items" (like buttons or widgets)
- Items can be configured to rectangularly span over multiple columns and rows (t.b.d.)
- Editing-mode makes items movable
- Items can be resized by pinching or reset to default-size by 2-finger-double-tap
- Background-images for root-view and scroll-view
- Dynamically adapts to portrait or landscape
- Layout is seperately configurable for iPhone, iPad, portrait and landscape
- All changes can be done during runtime and are saved (saving t.b.d.)
- Own class for gestures-handling supports easy customization of behavior
- Easy to implement by just importing its files and using it as a view-/controller.
- Built in funcitonality kept in a sub-controller keeping the main-controller free for customization by developers.
- Easily understandable structure supporting easy usage and customization.
Second purpose
This project is one of three projects, being references for my iOS-development skills. I am a junior-developer, which means, that my iOS-practice still is pretty fresh. I'm constantly working on this and I am currently searching for an engagement as iOS-developer in the region of Darmstadt and Frankfurt am Main, Germany. You can find my (German) profile at Xing or on my business-website at creative-impact.de.
This second purpose is the reason, why I'm developing this framework completely on my own, without using any existing third-party frameworks or libraries. I actually didn't search if there were any, that could help on this, because that was no option.
Status
HomeScreen is work in progress. It's currently not usable! As soon as it is, I want to submit a demo for approval for the iTunes App Store. The sourcecode will be available soon.
Pictures & Video
(Video will only play on iPhone 4 and later because it's 720p)
Documentation

More information to come soon!
Sourcecode
Currently not available, but will be, soon. I have to find the right license.
